Looking to Volunteer with ELB?
Emerging Leaders for Biodiversity is always looking for volunteers to help organize events, write blog posts, and help put together our newsletter. If you are interested in volunteering your time to help in the success of ELB, please email email@example.com with the subject: Request to Join a Working Group. In the body of the email, please mention which working group you would like to join (Events or Resource & Development), and your typical availability over the course of a month/ how much time you would be able to volunteer. If you are unable to volunteer your time, but would still like to contribute to our blog, please also let us know! Call for Board of Directors Nominations
Are you looking for a rewarding way to share your skill sets and talents with a non-profit that empowers young conservationists and early-career biodiversity professionals? Emerging Leaders for Biodiversity (ELB) is currently accepting nominations to our Board of Directors.
Joining the board will allow you to meet interesting people who will add to your sphere of influence and develop skills important for any career, including: project management, strategic planning, networking, and budgeting. The responsibilities of board membership include participation in the administration and decision-making for the organization, as well as managing working groups that accomplish the tasks below.
Specific tasks board member responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Planning events, seminars and ELB's Annual General meeting
Attend meeting of the Ontario Biodiversity Council and/or other partner organizations
Contribute to and oversee the production of ELB's newsletter and blog
Manage ELB's mentorship program
Manage ELB's membership database
Update ELB's website and maintain its social media presence
Searching for and apply to grants and seeking in-kind support

Please submit a maximum 400 word statement of interest that includes a bit about yourself, why you are interested in participating on the board of directors, as well as interest and experience in particular responsibilities, and a photo of yourself which may be shared with members for the purposes of voting. Please email a word document or pdf to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 15, 2020, with the subject line: ELB Board Nomination.
