ELB Chair, Thomas McAuley-Biasi will be a youth ambassador for World Environment Day on June 5th! The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change wants to mobilize youth across the country, spread interest and action, and set up concurrent events across the country.
The vision for World Environment Day 2017 is to inspire people across the world to connect with nature, to appreciate its natural beauty and importance, and to take forward the call to protect the earth that we share. In the spirit of this year's theme, ‘Connecting People to Nature,' Canadians are encouraged to explore their country's natural areas, including national parks, national wildlife areas, and migratory bird sanctuaries.
To celebrate World Environment day, and sticking with the theme of "Connecting People to Nature", ELB is hosting two nature walks on the weekend leading up to June 5th. These excursions will give you a chance to connect with ELB members, board members and staff of these locations. We will not be leading an interpretive hike, rather we will go for a walk in the woods giving you the chance to relax, chat with your peers and connect with nature.
