Forests Ontario is searching for 15 bilingual volunteers who have an interest in environmental science (Basic communication in French/English is ok) to help support this year's Ottawa Envirothon, a high school environmental science competition. On May 7, 2019, 75 students from French and English schools across Eastern Ontario will gather at the Carp Ridge EcoWellness Centre for a day of learning and testing on agroecology, aquatics, soils, forestry, and wildlife.
The team of volunteers will help out with delivering tests and making sure the day runs smoothly. Students participate in this competition because they are passionate about connecting with and learning about the natural world. This is a great mentoring opportunity to support a generation of passionate environmentalists. Time requirement is from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Carp Ridge EcoWellness (2386 Thomas Dolan Parkway, Ottawa (Carp), ON K0A 1L0). If interested, please email firstname.lastname@example.org (or call at 613-400-1886) for more information.
